Under the class-size amendment that Florida voters passed in November, no more than 18 students will be allowed per class from kindergarten through third grade, and the limit for fourth grade through eighth grade will be 22. High school classes will be capped at 25. With this new law, the School District of Indian River County has been forced to install approximately 50 portable classrooms in their district.
